(My local railway station is Abbey Wood. It is an area famous for a now much improved but otherwise failed housing experiment, Thamesmead . I’ve met & spoken to Americans at Abbey Wood station who seemed to think they’ve been deposited in Mordor! Areas to the south are fine, ~actually pretty nice Victorian era, but the northern bit is, umm yes. Visually challenged. ‘Clockwork Orange’ was filmed there….).
